Coursework

The College of Public Health coursework has prepared me for strong analytic and detailed writing. I have done extensive literature reviews on adolescent opioid use, adolescent firearm exposure, and global violence against women. I conducted a community needs assessment that addressed resources for incarcerated individuals in Georgia. My program planning and analysis taught me how to critically and creatively conduct an extensive plan for a fictional rural community with high rates of substance use; I wrote a needs assessment, annotated bibliography, program plan and evaluation, budget, and marketing. My data fluency certificate introduced me to data analysis packages such as R and Stata, and I can sufficiently navigate Microsoft Excel to conduct data analysis tasks.
